ECS-Grid: Data-Oriented Real-Time Simulation Platform for Cyber-Physical Power Systems

ECS-Grid is the first data-oriented real-time electromagnetic transient simulation platform for cyber-physical power systems (CPPS). Traditional tools are constrained by object-oriented programming (OOP) architecture, which now a significant obstruction to creating comprehensive simulation. Therefore, proposed follows new paradigm based on an Entity-Component-System (ECS) framework, delivers higher flexibility, extensibility, scalability, and performance support system research. proposes layer of virtual intelligent electronic devices (vIEDs) model IEDs in CPPSs. The vIEDs directly talk physical components communicate asynchronously with cyber services via high-performance JSON-like binary protocol. Tests islanding man-in-the-middle attack scenarios 711-node AC-DC microgrid cluster modified CIGRE 15-Bus performed give accurate results. A faster-than-real-time achieved 10th Gen Intel ® Core xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">TM i7 computer, distributed embedded NVIDIA Jetson platform. design test results demonstrate potential ECS may inspire renovation industrial software.
